My first introduction to Mother Nature and Indian Wildlife was 18 years ago. At that time my friend Arun Venkatraman was pursuing his PhD at IISc. Some of his field work involved visiting the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary and other such (Wild) places. He used to camp sometimes at the CES field station at Masinagudi, a village outside the sanctuary. I along with my friend Asad visited Arun at Mudumalai wildlife sanctuary for the very first time in 1988.
At first we were simply awed by Mother Nature. The Green of the Flora was so soothing to the eyes. The only sounds you would hear were from the birds, insects, animals, wind blowing through the forest trees. Nights were even better. Clear skies with a million stars. Bonus!!! Full moon in a forest. At times absolute silence, at times only the sounds of insects, night birds, sounds of wildlife in a forest. Animal Alarm calls. (Beware Predator on the prowl.)
Suddenly it struck me. I realized that these visits to forests were really giving me what I wanted. De Stress, peace and tranquility. A holiday in the true sense
Thereafter I traveled several times since 1988 till date, to many such places, sometimes even alone. I have visited several wildlife sanctuaries of the SOUTH. Most of the photographs that you see on this website were taken by me or by some of my friends. I have visited and experienced days/nights at these destinations of Mother Nature. Even today the only place I would like to visit is a forest.
